Eastwind held a training webinar for an SMS aggregator on working with EW SMS Firewall

Getting to know the user interface, working with blacklists and whitelists, configuring blocks—these and other topics were covered by Eastwind specialists during an online training session for an SMS aggregator’s team. The session focused on the effective use of the EW SMS Firewall solution.

The customer works with Eastwind under a managed services model. Our specialists monitor key metrics, identify new fraud schemes, update filters, and send the SMS aggregator regular email reports with analytics on spam, fraud, and KPI performance. However, from time to time, the client needs to independently view analytics on dashboards, configure lists, and adjust filters—and that’s exactly what this training was about.

On the customer’s side, the participants included technical specialists and chief operating officer. The webinar was led by Irina Timofeeva, Customer Success Manager, and Andrey Alemastsev, Product Manager for EW SMS Firewall. This was the second training session for our client. In addition to the webinar for the aggregator’s team, we also prepared training materials—step-by-step guides on how to work with the SMS Firewall’s features.

During the video conference, our experts demonstrated the interface and core features of the system and also answered participants’ questions. The following topics were covered:
 
  • User interface of the EW SMS Firewall reporting and analytics module: data structure, building SQL queries, creating tables.
 
  • Generating analytical reports and dashboards based on raw data and pre-aggregated SMS statistics by parameters such as message volume, message types, numbers, and more.
 
  • EW SMS Firewall capabilities:
– Generating and viewing statistics
– Working with blacklists and whitelists
– Adding and removing numbers from the SIM bank list
– Configuring system notifications for SIM bank detection and spam attacks
– Adding and removing alphanumeric senders from blacklists and whitelists
 
  • Case studies: checking blocks, managing restrictions, creating reports, working with “canary” numbers to protect against A2P fraud.


EW SMS Firewall integrates multiple databases, enabling flexible configuration of filters and analytics.



The EW SMS Firewall dashboard allows you to view the dynamics of SMS traffic passing through the customer’s network and choose the most convenient way to display the information.


Now the SMS aggregator’s specialists will be able to use the key features of the solution independently. The next stage of training will cover more specific topics. We are confident that the knowledge gained will help the customer use the EW SMS Firewall capabilities more effectively and strengthen the protection of their telecom infrastructure.
