2011

th Users Conference “FORMULA EastWind” has finished in Turkey. In October, EASTWIND for the seventh time gathered the representatives of telecom industry from Russia and CIS, its partners and customers. This year, about 20 leading telecom companies from Russia, Tajikistan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan and Ukraine took part in the conference, including both current customers of EastWind and its new customers and partners.

Kazakhstan’s leading CDMA operator, ALTEL Company, implements interactive voting system EastWind IVR. Functional capabilities of EastWind IVR can provide various data services, allowing the operator to develop the range of its services to a new level. Use of IVR platform will make it possible not only to minimize personnel costs, but also automate customer request processing services, increasing satisfaction and loyalty of subscribers.

EastWind launches commercial use of SMS center in Sky Link throughout the whole territory of operator’s presence. When volume of message traffic in the network keeps constantly increasing, the company needed a powerful solution capable of providing uninterrupted operation of all SMS services provided to subscribers by Sky Link. Main arguments for the EastWind SMS Center were the system’s performance, its reliability and a wide range of functional applications.

EastWind has entered a partnership agreement with the Canadian company Sandvine, the leading provider of intellectual solutions for broadband access networks, to provide network policy control solutions.
2010

The new Traffic Packages module of EastWind Billing System is launched in the network of Babilon Mobile. The new functionality enabled subscribers of Babilon Mobile to buy packages of voice and video traffic, SMS/MMS, and mobile Internet at best wholesale prices. The launch resulted in the subscriber traffic growth, and allowed the operator to broaden its service portfolio as well as secure itself against debt-related risks.

EastWind and the telecommunication operator Altyn Asyr, part of the Kyrgyzstan State-owned Telecoms Operator TurkmenTelecom sign a contract for EastWind Billing System subscriber license expansion.

EastWind holds the VI EastWind Formula 2010 User Conference. This year the event moved to Astrakhan, the native city of one of EastWind’s first customers Astrakhan GSM. EastWind and the Volga region operator have a long record of successful partnership: May 2010 the two companies celebrated 10 years of cooperation. Key customers and partners of EastWind took part in Formula EastWind 2010.

EastWind takes part in the special project 2000–2010: the Decade Summary initiated by the CNews information agency. In 2010 CNews, Russia and CIS’s biggest IT periodical celebrated its 10th anniversary. Looking back at the 10 years’ work, the company has turned to the Russian IT history. A specialized portal 2010.cnews.ru is launched to collect information about the milestones of the Russian info-communications market and of CNews itself. EastWind, whose becoming started as early as the beginning of the Russian IT market, takes an active part in the project: at 2010.cnews.ru portal the company shares its experience in the IT business, provides insight into the telecoms technology evolution and Russian IT market trends.

Operator Babilon Mobile (Tajikistan) launches a Roaming Data Exchanger module deployed on the basis of EastWind Roaming Support & Fraud Detection Platform. EastWind’s module installed in the Babilon Mobile network enables NRTRDE file generation and exchange with roaming partners, validation of NRTRDE records and their export to external systems for further fraud analysis.

Company releases new EastWind Mobile Contact product. The solution is built around the integration of the mobile telephone and Web server functionalities. The service allows subscribers to create a copy of their phone directory on the operator’s server, and enables safe storage and convenient management of the data. Subscribers can also use optional phone directory-related services such as ‘who called’, ‘ring back tone’, ‘callback’, ‘white/black lists’, ‘Web-to-SMS’, etc.
2009

In 2009, EastWind continues cooperation with the mobile operator SkyLink providing CDMA2000 1X EV-DO services. As part of the regional consolidation and servicing standard unification program run by the operator, EastWind Billing System is being implemented in its regional networks. In May-August 2009, the EastWind solution is installed in 11 SkyLink divisions.

In April and September, within the company’s partnership building program, EastWind holds two user events: a specialized workshop for the companies operating under the SkyLink brand, and a traditional annual conference EastWind Formula 2009. This time, Kirghizia is chosen as a site for the event. The Kirghizia CDMA operator AkTel provides partnership organizing the large-scale session.
2007 – 2008

A new version of EastWind Contact Center is released. The EastWind Contact Center 3.0 solution is designed for government and commercial organizations whose activities require a well-developed customer care service.

July 15 2007, EastWind celebrates its 10th anniversary.

EastWind’s joint project with the Tajik NGN operator Babilon-T is completed by the commercial launch of EastWind Billing System and EastWind Express Paid (an advance payment system).

The company develops a new product for the telecoms market. EastWind Data Expert falls in the category of BI (Business Intelligence) systems for analytics and reporting; the solution provides a tool to collect and analyze data of a company’s automated billing systems, network equipment, service platforms and accounting systems.

EastWind wins the National Business Reputation Award ‘DARIN’ for the ‘development and global marketing of innovative software solutions’. The DARIN National Award is established by the Russian Business and Entrepreneurship Academy and ACMO Press Publishing House to acknowledge people making significant contribution the social and economic life of a town, region or Russia as a whole.

A contract is closed for the supply of a complex of EastWind solutions – the billing system, contact center, voice mail service, and others – to the Tajik cellular operator Tajiktelecom.

EastWind installs EastWind Billing System in the networks operated by Vyatskaya Sotovaya Svyaz (Kirov, Russia), Sotovaya Svyaz Alaniya (Vladikavkaz, Russia) and VladTelecom (Vladimir, Russia). All the operators provide mobile telecommunications services of CDMA2000 1X EVDO standard under the SkyLink brand.

EastWind becomes winner at Microsoft’s 2008 Worldwide Partner Conference (WPC) Awards for the Central and Eastern Europe. The company is awarded in the ‘Citizenship Partner of the Year’ category for its regional technical higher education support program.

The 4th user conference ‘EastWind Formula 2008’ is held in Tajikistan. Since 2008 the annual event is held in a mobile session format, in different regions where telcos using EastWind solutions operate.
2005 – 2006

EastWind is one of the first Russian developers to implement a full-scale Billing&Customer Care complex in a 3G network. EastWind solutions are installed in the UMTS of Babilon-Mobile (Tajikistan).

EastWind Billing System and Customer Care complex are installed for M.Teko, a CDMA 2000 operator entering the Tajikistani market in 2006.

In 2005-2006, EastWind explores a new field – the company regularly sponsors and organizes students’ academic competitions. Among these are: Yekaterinburg’s first interuniversity software programming competition, the ‘Computing Machines, Complexes, Systems and Networks’ academic competition and others.

In 2006, the Expert RA rating agency names EastWind among the Urals’ three leading independent software vendors.

EastWind’s project makes the final of the World Billing Awards organized within the Billing & Information Management Systems 2006 forum (London). The company participates with the project of EastWind Billing System implementation for the Tajik 3G-UMTS cellular operator Babilon-Mobile.

The SMARTS division Astrakhan GSM commercially launches EastWind IN Platform and a number of the platform-based services.

In 2006, EastWind joins the SITRONICS Telecoms Solutions business division.
2003 - 2004

Partnership grows with the SMARTS group of companies: EastWind solutions are installed in Yaroslavl GSM, Shupashkar GSM, Ivanonvo GSM and other mobile networks.

The company actively penetrates the CIS telecoms market, establishing partnership with Babilon-Mobile (Tajikistan), AkTel (Kirghizia), Perfectum Mobile (Uzbekistan).

The first User Group ‘EastWind Formula 2004’ is launched in Yekaterinburg. Since 2004, the event is a tradition: EastWind annually organizes customer sessions to discuss latest challenges and share experience.

In 2003, EastWind Billing System is named ‘Product of the Year’ at the authoritative international forum ‘Billing: IT Telecom’. In the following year, the same title is awarded to EastWind MMS Center.
2001 - 2002

Further portfolio development. The company releases the multistandard EastWind Billing & Customer Care Platform.

The complex solution is installed in SMARTS Penza GSM, Dal Telecom International (D-AMPS/GSM) and other mobile networks.EastWind Billing System is named Product of the Year 2002 in the ‘Billing Solutions’ category.
1999 – 2000

Product portfolio grows: the company releases its key product – EastWind Billing System (EW BiS) and enhances the Customer Care product line.

EastWind wins tender held by SMARTS group of companies for the supply of a billing system; the first installation at Astrakhan GSM proves the viability and efficiency of the EastWind solution and marks the first step of the company’s growth in the telecoms market.

Among other milestones are a number of contracts with customers from the Far East.
